Though raised to be very aristocratic and proper Allana has a tendency to be more of a tomboy. She enjoys kicking up her heals and having fun without restriction to her upbringing.

Born in the city of Delaria to a scientist father and a politician mother. Allana's mother Casta Ganis is of nobel birth, daughter of the First House of Betazed. Bonded in marriage to Jayr Lestra when they were children. Being of such a high house she as well as her brother Ocnus and sister Jace were expected to carry themselves with dignity and honour at all times. They were privately tutored and groomed to take their places in society.
There was little play for the young Allana who was expected to tow line and follow the family code, she was used as a show piece for the family as were her siblings. But the youngest Ganis child did not do so without a fight. A fight her father quietly supported and encouraged much to her mother's chagrin. Which led to a warm and close paternal relationship but a non existent one with her mother. One battle her father did not fight was Allana's genetic bonding to the child of a family friend, Taran Uraiv.
During official functions she did as expected but once the cameras were off so did the pomp and circumstance at least for Allana who would kick off her shoes and kick up her heels or go and play sports with the servants of her home. Though it was far from easy she made it through her child hood, her grades were such and her IQ so extraordinary that she finished her education at 16 and applied to Starfleet Academy where she once again excelled in the Medical/Counseling/Diplomatic classes acquiring her degrees. Her preferred specialty being Counseling though she conceded to also specialising in Diplomacy to please her mother.
Her love off sporting activities were further fanned while at the Academy where she became interested in the ancient Terran sport called football or Soccer as it was also known. Discovering she had a real talent for the game she played it all four years of her time there winning many medals and accolades for her prowess. It was during her senior year she was notified that the time for the betrothal to be honoured had come and that she was expected home to Betazed to marry her bondmate after her graduation.
After a perfunctory refusal, Allana graduated Valedictorian of her Academy class and began her career though there were no celebrations nor congratulations from her family who upon her refusal to marry had disowned her with the exception of her father who sent her an old family heirloom that belonged to his mother. Now disowned by her family, the newly minted counselor moved on with her career vowing to never set foot on Betazed again.
She had her pick of billets but unlike most graduates she chose the least note worthy assignments because she felt more experience was warranted before taking such high profile assignments. Which also enabled her to continue to live her carefree, fun loving lifestyle without being an embarrassment to her family. Her choices also made it easy for her to keep her vow.
Studying languages and traditions of different cultures, reading, dancing, sports especially football(Soccer), listening to music and she plays piano.
