About the sim
The SIM is played via email and you can play only one character but through your logs can interact with other members. You are usually required to send in a log once every seven days to the captain who then posts it for you. There is a complete members section which includes a forum and other information that you will find useful for interacting with other characters. Promotion can be earned by a number of ways, how well you carry a story along, your conduct, frequency of logs and of course if someone leaves. It would be nice if we could all be admirals but we know this isn't possble, so everyone starts off as an ensign and then works their way up.
